The corporal works of mercy consist especially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead. Among all these, giving alms to the poor is one of the chief witnesses to fraternal charity: it is also a work of justice pleasing to God. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2447)

St. Hedwig Haus of Hospitality is a Catholic Worker house serving women and children in difficult situations. Volunteers are needed to be “on the house”, which means being present for a 3 hour shift. The time can be spent visiting with the guests, doing some light chores, or assisting with meal preparations. Fundraising assistance is also vital. Help is needed with our annual Oktoberfest and Soup Supper.
